Who is BE Chocolat?

Benoit Racquet co-founded BE Chocolat with his wife Sylvie Fortin in 2014. Before that, Racquet earned his Belgian Master Chocolatier degree in 2009 from Ceria Institute (Belgium) and was selected as chocolate corner’s Head Chef of the Belgian Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo, in 2010.

Established initially as a cottage business in Fairfield CT, BE Chocolat built a reputation of excellence crafting small batches using local ingredients and Sustainable Callebaut Finest Belgian Chocolate. Active member of the local community and several awards later, BE Chocolat opened their first Atelier BE Chocolat in 2021 expanding a talented & creative team of chocolate lovers and enthusiast customers.
The pairing experience offered at their second store Salon BE Chocolat in The Delmar Greenwich Harbor opened in 2023, was featured in Forbes and Condé Nast Traveler.

Today, BE Chocolat is known for their balance of tradition and creative artistry, micro batch ice-cream, Belgian waffles, Belgian Coffee, and warm customer relations.

BE Chocolat won Best Dessert of the Gold Coast in 2023 and 2024.
