Want to join our team? We are looking for a Cashier Chocolate Expert to ensure a stellar experience when customers visit our Atelier. The Cashier Chocolate Expert is responsible to welcome customers, help customers navigate our offerings (pralines, bars, chocolate gifts, custom creations, beverages,..), package chocolate boxes in front of customers based on their pralines selection, and operate the register. Additionally it is expected that the candidate has exceptional interpersonal skills, upholding our customers reviews: listen to and anticipate customers' needs, give expert advice when needed, convey the love of chocolate when answering questions, all while establishing a lasting connection. The ideal candidate is intimately familiar with the intricacies of our offering to provide quick and efficient service, ensure maximum customer satisfaction, and resolve all queries professionally. The Cashier Chocolate Expert will maintain an orderly appearance, keep the food areas clean and sanitized, and when not helping customers, help with chocolate packaging and shelf re-assortment.BE Chocolat is devoted to creating the highest Belgium quality chocolates while staying true and respecting the ancestral tradition of Belgian confectioners. We are working exclusively in small batches with couverture chocolate imported from Belgium using Callebaut's Belgian Finest product line, and high quality, organic ingredients.
BE Chocolat was established in the US in 2014 by Benoit Racquet, who graduated in 2008 from Ceria Chocolate Academy in Belgium and represented Belgium at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. Beside many loyal chocolate-lover customers (as evidenced by reviews on Google, Yelp, Trip Advisor, Instagram and Facebook), BE Chocolat customers include the Belgian Embassies in NY and LA, Tiffany’s stores (Westport, Westhaven and Greenwich), High-end restaurants, hotels and foodies stores.
In order to succeed with BE Chocolat, the ideal candidate for this role must:
- Work independently within a diverse team in an international environment Be familiar with dietary requirements
- Excel at chocolate handling
- BE obsessed with aesthetics
- BE familiar with the industry standard confectionery practices
- BE confident, outgoing and engaging personality
- Have great time management skills (multi-tasking and prioritizing)
- Impeccably presented. SafeServ preferred but not required
WORKING HOURS:
Hours and days are flexible to accommodate your life/constraints as this role can be done independently from other productions schedule. The position could be extended to full time but does not have to. Your commitment is required the weeks of key chocolate peak times like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's and Easter.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Minimum of 3 years in food industry.
